2 frozen bananas
1/4 cup of frozen soaked cashews
1/2 cup of oats
1/2 cup of cauliflower powder/rice
Maca and protein powder
1 tsp of maple syrup
Blue Majik powder and beetroot crystals to make the colours
Blend until smooth and top with berries and dragon fruit balls.
Blue Layer:
50g Jasmine rice
2 glasses water
3 tbsp coconut chips
2 pears
2 small bananas
1 tsp Blue Majik
1 tsp lucuma
White Layer:
A couple tbsp cooked rice with coconut chips
Strawberries
Raspberries
Cacao Nibs
Directions:
1. Boil rice and coconut together
2. Blend it with fruits and powders
3. Decorate with fresh fruits, cacao nibs and flaked almonds
I'm thrilled to announce the launch of Between 2 Branches! As someone who has been on a long intensive health journey, I'm excited to finally help others with their own wellbeing and happiness. To start, I wanted to share my own story with you and what brought me here. I'm sure you're also wondering "What does Between 2 Branches mean?" — I'll get to that too, promise!
My journey started at 23 years old, when I received a phone call that no person can prepare themselves for. I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.
How could this be? Was my first thought. I was only 23, considered myself healthy, and had represented New Zealand in beach volleyball for over 6 years.
Before that phone call, I had taken my health and life for granted. With the diagnosis I set out on a mission to heal my body from the inside out and fight the cancer. I started reading anything and everything I could about nutrition, health, fitness, meditation and yoga in an effort to heal and transform my lifestyle.
For 3 years, I was in and out of remission with rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, and transfusions. It was long and gruelling, but I persisted and really took responsibility for what I could control alongside the treatment: food, and the mind.
A combination of wholefoods, mindfulness and a positive outlook can truly help in overcoming the most debilitating diseases. Integrating these practices into my life during treatment has helped me bounce back from an incredibly low point, along with friends and family who have encouraged me along the way.
I'm passionate about helping others really notice and take control of their wellbeing too. It wouldn't be right not to share the products which have helped me on my own journey. Of course, every experience with health is unique. I hope to support others in their own individual approach to health and wellness, so they may become the best possible version of themselves.
It's not just about managing symptoms: it's treating the cause too. Western society is overloaded with chronic stress, sugars, alcohol, processed foods, and pesticides. Diseases like obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and depression are more prevalent than ever, and in many cases, are largely impacted by our lifestyles.
My name's Kate, and I'm the founder of Between 2 Branches. Four and a half years after my health journey began, I'm taking my first steps in creating a business focused on health, wellness, and balance.
It's all about noticing the gaps and the spaces between. Between 2 Branches represents looking within yourself, focusing on yourself, and filling those spaces to become more whole. Finding your balance is so important when it comes to health, which starts with truly noticing your own feelings, priorities, and general state of being.
